Before you learn to buy Starlink in Pakistan? Let us tell you a little bit about what Starlink broadband satellite internet is and how it works!
For those unaware, Starlink is a project started by Elon Musk-owned SpaceX in 2015. Starlink aims to provide satellite internet around the globe by 2022. Satellite Internet does not use telephone lines or cable systems but instead uses a satellite dish for two-way (upload and download) data communications.
The US-based satellite internet provider, Starlink plans on sending thousands of small low orbit satellites. They will go around the planet ensuring fast internet and low ping! Starlink satellites will increase the accuracy of GPS to up to 1 meter!
There might be up to 42,000 satellites in orbit by mid-2027.
Some of these satellites will be sold off for military, scientific, and exploratory purposes as well.
How fast is Starlink broadband Internet setup?
According to the Starlink website, as of now, we can expect to see data speeds from 50 to 150 Mbps and latency from 20 to 40 milliseconds. Low latency is guaranteed as a result of the usage of low orbit satellites. Around 550kms! Even though this might not seem that much, but one important fact that needs to be kept in mind is that satellite internet does not require cable or wires to work. So even in the most remote areas, the quality of the internet would be the same
Starlink customers get the same deal: advertised speeds of 50–150 Mbps, an upload speed of 60-70 Mbps, and unlimited data! Latency 20 to 40milli second.
Not only that, Starlink ensures that as more satellites are launched in the orbit, and more and more ground stations are installed. The networking improves, there will be a drastic improvement in the software, data speed, latency. The satellites will form a mesh around the earth’s orbit. The low orbiting satellites will decrease the round-trip data time between the uses and the satellite. This is also known as latency.
Starlink aims to provide connection speeds of a mind-blowing 1Gbps, average speeds of 900Mbps, and much better reliability than other ISPs
